ABOUT KIBO

KIBO PRODUCTIONS LIMITED is a UK-based company (Cambridgeshire) specialising in the production of films and videos for broadcast, training, education and publicity in the fields of earth and environmental sciences and related industries, and in archaeology.

'KIBO' is the name of the highest point in Africa, the main summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania (the snow-capped peak in the image above), which was climbed by the company founder in 1973 while working in Africa. The company was set up by a geologist with thirty years of varied commercial and aid experience in many parts of the world who, as an individual, began making films more than 10 years ago. Kibo Productions has film and video shooting and editing facilities capable of broadcast-quality productions. Productions can be taken from conception through research, treatment, scriptwriting, shooting, editing and distribution.

Video is a convenient , cost-effective and user-friendly medium, familiar to anyone who owns a television - that is, almost everybody! It can communicate, educate and convey any kind of message or image. Computer-based non-linear editing enables the rapid creation of a programme with multi-layered effects in both video and audio. Kibo Productions shoots all original material in broadcast/professional Sony Betacam or DVCAM video formats. We also have in-house a Matrox Digisuite digital video editing platform with in-sync Speed Razor realtime editing and compositing software for Windows NT. Combined with Adobe Photoshop graphics, Adobe After Effects motion graphics/visual effects and Sonic Foundry SoundForge digital audio editing, the system is capable of creating professional, broadcast-quality video projects for output to tape, DVD, multimedia or web streaming.
